Lentas is a picturesque seaside village, located on the South Coast of Crete, 75km south of Heraklion (1 hour and 10 minutes drive from Heraklion), in one of the most beautiful areas of Southern Crete. To reach “Trachoulas” or “Trafoulas” you cross a small gorge (15-20 minutes walk) and end at its famous beach, one of the most beautiful in Southern Crete. Both the route in the gorge and the beach itself will pleasantly surprise you. To the west lies the long sandy beach of “Dytikos or Diskos”, also famous for its natural beauty.

A unique experience is the ascent to the top of the “Lion”, the rock that dominates the bay of Lentas, a characteristic landmark of the area. From there you will be impressed by the panoramic view of the South Cretan Sea,the sun sinking into the sea, giving you a magical, almost dreamy sunset and weather permitting, your gaze will reach the island of Gavdos, the southernmost point of Europe.

In Lentas and in the surrounding area there are a lot of traditional taverns and cafes, where you can sample local dishes of the famous Cretan Cuisine, breakfast with local products (orange juices, honey, marmalades and many more).
